Description
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Reading Apprenticeship on
ninth grade reading comprehension scores as determined by the Explore test. All
students were required to take the Explore test in the spring of their eighth and ninth
grade years. Students participating in this study were divided into experimental and
comparison groups. Students in the experimental group were exposed to Reading
Apprenticeship during their ninth grade year. The control group did not have
exposure to Reading Apprenticeship. The data did show growth for the
experimental group. Therefore, it appears that Reading Apprenticeship may have
an impact on reading comprehension scores
