Description
Currently, many low vision and normal vision patients subjectively enjoy better vision with certain filters. This study was set up to assess the difference in various filters; to see if specific colors and transmissions help to increase visual acuity andjor contrast sensitivity function in low and medium lighting situations. Twenty subjects were evaluated to study
these effects. Ten filters were utilized, six from N.O.I.R., three from the C.P.F. series by Corning and an Opticlear antireflective coating. This study has helped to identify that there is a definite preference of certain filters which increase contrast as well as visual acuity. |
